4th Grade SLO Review


 SLO Review
 
1.        Abiotic--Non-living things in an ecosystem.
 2.       Beneficial--Having a good effect, useful.
 3.       Biotic--The Living part of an environment.
 4.       Cave--A large, natural hole in the ground or in the side of a hill or mountain.
 5.       chemical change--A change in which new or different kinds of matter are formed.
 6.       Communicate--to exchange or pass along fact thoughts or important information .
 7.       Conduct--Behave in a certain manner.  
 8.       Deposition--the dropping of materials moved by erosion.
 9.       Earthquakes--the shaking and cracking of the Earth's surface.
 10.   Environment--the surroundings in which people, plants, or animals live.
 11.   Erosion--A movement of weathered rock pieces from one place to another.
 12.   Evidence--the data used to draw a conclusion
 13.   Fossil--The preserved remains or traces of an organism that lived in the past
14.   Glacier--A huge, slow moving mass of ice.  
   15.   Harmful--likely to injure or hurt someone or something
  16.   Hazard--A source of danger.
  17.   Investigation--A search for answers to a problem.
  18.   Matter--Anything that takes up space and has mass.
  19.   Observation--the use of your senses to notice your environment
  20.   Observe--to watch or study something carefully
  21.   physical change--a change from one state (solid or liquid or gas) to another without a change in chemical composition
  22.   Precaution--Something done beforehand to prevent harm or danger.
  23.   Properties--any characteristic of matter that you can observe
  24.   Volcanic--igneous rock that forms from cooled lava, or from volcanic
      dust and ash
  25.   Weathering--the physical breaking up of the rocks on Earth's surface into smaller pieces of rock or sand
